Message received from Guy Cordery on behalf of the JG Theatre Club, Heathfield:
"I am sure chatting to Craig you will be in no doubt about just how much my group enjoyed their week with Backwaters. Tour wise it was without doubt the highlight of our year and with several hardened JG Theatre Club members proclaiming It to be one of the best holidays if not the best we have ever offered that really is high praise indeed.
The whole cruise experience was fabulous, the scenery was lovely and of course we were lucky with the weather most of the time which just enhanced everything. The highest praise must go to Sheena, Peter, Jordan and Craig who looked after my folk extremely well for the duration and made them feel very much at home. The quality of the lunches drew compliments from everyone and we all came away with serious concerns about our waistlines !! To glide along the canal in silence with the sun-shining and the autumn colours glinting was simply magical.
It was real treat for me being able to cruise with the party and my sincere thanks go to Craig for running me around and making it a pretty easy week for me. I fully admire his professionalism dealing with the hotel and I am grateful for the effort you both put in to securing The Mercure which I have to say looked after us very well."

“We have just returned from the best holiday we have ever had, the Backwaters canal cruise in Burgundy. The boat “Natalia” was brand new, immaculately fitted-out and very comfortable. The crew were extremely skilled and negotiated the many locks with great expertise. Almost the best part of the holiday were the wonderful lunches prepared on board. We had the chance to explore beautiful cathedrals, a basilica and mediaeval towns. We had an amazing visit to some incredible caves with a superb guide and of course there had to be a wine tasting in Chablis. We would heartily recommend the Backwaters holiday package, it was simply wonderful”

"Superb onboard catering"
“I am writing to express my appreciation of the 15th September cruise on the Yonne. I am sure that by now you will have been thanked by the many who did the trip as it was obvious all were enjoying the experience. The weather was obviously a bonus and the superb on board catering ensured we all looked forward to lunch, and there was of course the lunch at the Auberge in Villeneuve-sur-Yonne, a meal not to be forgotten”
- Alan Green
"Friendly and capable crew"
“We really enjoyed our week on the river barge ‘Natalia’. It was so peaceful and relaxing, while the canals and rivers that we travelled along were a scenic delight. with a variety of wildlife to be seen. The service was excellent as were the lunches and the crew were so friendly and capable. You were quick to recognise when plans needed to be altered and the changes were made seamlessly. We certainly look forward to travelling with you again”

"Every minute was magic"
“Thank you so very much for making the wonderful holiday “The Joys of the Yonne” so marvellous and special. Every minute was magic”
- Norma Crozier
"Simplicity and Tranquility"
“We certainly enjoyed the simplicity and tranquillity on the Natalia. The whole atmosphere of the holiday was good and information about distance for walking/cycling between locks and the informative map books on board were an excellent aid to our enjoyment. Château Ancy-le-Franc expertly guided by Sheena, the Chablis tasting and meal after at the Hotel de la Poste plus the lovely lunch beside the river at the Auberge La Lucarne aux Chouettes were all very good."
- Graham Badcock
"A delight from start to finish"
We have recently returned from the Backwaters holiday based in Auxerre and would like to tell you how much we enjoyed it. It was a delight from start to finish. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful . The hours spent on the boat were especially wonderful . The organisation was very good and the days pleasantly varied.”
