"Sadly, due to the uncertainty imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the likely continuance of socialising restrictions and the impact upon our venue and the looming prospect of not being able to attract sufficient revenue to offset expenses we find it necessary to cancel this year’s festival in order to protect its future, finances and the committee’s personal liability.
Whilst this decision, taken in the light of the dramatic change in all our life styles, will not be unexpected we know it will be a big disappointment to musicians, our audience, suppliers and supporters.
The Festival’s future remains secure and arrangements are being made to re-schedule this year’s programme and re-instate it next year on 13th-15th August 2021 at Pershore College. This will enable Pershore Jazz to continue to provide a platform for the promotion of live music and reward the loyal support and growing attendance that has been bestowed on the event since it’s inception in 2000 and further enhance its standing as a premier event in the UK jazz calendar.
Arrangements are in hand to contact advance ticket holders and those who have booked College accommodation to offer refunds or ‘roll over’ to next year. Given the volume that we have enjoyed this may take a little time so please be patient
Pending next year’s festival Pershore Jazz Club’s monthly jazz session will re-commence as soon as Government advice allows. For further updates on the festival and club sessions visit www.pershorejazz.org.uk
